This bill eliminates the requirement that employees in Youth Corrections be classified as Correctional Officers. The removal of this requirement, however, does not necessarily release the state from potential liability for lawsuits based on inadequate training, worker's compensation claims, or the requirement to meet training needs based on the work assignments. Potential costs for such claims cannot be estimated at this time.
