SB0272S02 - Driver License Sanctions and Sentencing Requirements for Driving Under the Influence and Alcohol Related Offenses

State Impact:
Enactment of this bill would require a one-time appropriation of $12,000 to the Department of Public Safety for programming costs. Increasing the suspension periods for certain offenses decreases revenue to the Public Safety Restricted Account by $217,000 in FY 2010 and $333,500 in FY 2011; the action also decreases revenue to the Department of Health by $45,200 in FY 2010 and $72,000 in FY 2011 and the Drivers License Division by $114,800 in FY 2010 and $176,500 in FY 2011. The amount of the loss decreases to $3,400 in FY 2012, after which there is no further revenue loss.
