During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $0 from all sources for Literacy Projects. This is a 100 percent reduction from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources. The total includes $0 from the General/Education Funds, a reduction of 100 percent from revised Fiscal Year 2015 estimates.
During the most recent budget cuts, the General Fund appropriations for this program were discontinued. The Governor continues to support the program financially with a $50,000 transfer from the Administration program. The transfer does not show up in Literacy Projects funding detail as it is reported as part of the Administration program within the Governor's Office line item.
