The Surface program administers the surface uses of the trust lands. Surface activities include: telecommunication sites, industrial and commercial enterprises, residential leases, agriculture leases, as well as easements, permits, rights-of-entry and sales.

RS 2477 Analyst

SITLA is working with the Public Lands Policy Coordinating Office to help counties resolve the RS 2477 issues involving trust lands. The Legislature has been appropriating $46,300 one-time for temporary staff since FY 2008.
Appropriation Overview

During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $1,876,400 from all sources for Surface. This is a 3.2 percent increase from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources.
