Dear Representative Briscoe...

As you know, Utah bill #HJR8 allows Utah to join 21 other states that have already called for a convention of states under Article V of the US Constitution… specifically to propose an amendment to the Constitution requiring that the federal government operate under a balanced budget (except in times of national emergency).

If there were another way to rein-in our federal government’s out-of-control spending, I would not be writing you.  There is no other constitutional way to do that!

Some good folks are bending your ear, telling you they fear bad things will happen if we use the very section of our Constitution our founding fathers gave us to be used in times like these.  Not using the provisions in Article V is what will allow bad things to happen to our nation.  YOU can help stop our runaway Congress and its runaway spending!

For the sake of our kids and grandkids… please vote YES on HJR8.
