CFPB Study Finds Medical Debt Overly Penalizes Consumer Credit Scores

The CFPB recently released a research report that found consumers’ credit scores may be overly penalized for medical debt that goes into collections and shows up on their credit report. According to the study, credit scoring models may underestimate the creditworthiness of consumers who owe medical debt in collections. Learn more…

CFPB Adds Truth in Lending Rule to eRegulations Tool

Last year, the CFPB launched its eRegulations tool which combines important information that can often be difficult to navigate or is spread throughout a regulation, often separated by dozens or even hundreds of pages. As part of the tool, the CFPB recently launched an intuitive, easier-to-navigate electronic format of Regulation Z, which implements the Truth in Lending Act. Regulation Z is the flagship federal regulation protecting consumers when it comes to credit products. Learn more…
