Last week, we witnessed history being made as President Obama announced that China has officially committed to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions. As a veteran, an Operation Free supporter, and an American, I am proud of this achievement.
Like many of you, I have spent my career addressing America's traditional national security challenges, in and out of uniform. It is inspiring to see the U.S. now leading other nations in addressing the most far-reaching, complex threat we face: climate change.
This deal demonstrates that our leadership abroad does produce results. Addressing climate change in collaboration with others maintains our nation's position as a world leader and increases global stability. Read my op-ed to see how this new announcement exemplifies that leadership.
