Jul 15, 2014 Senator Scott Jenkins State Capitol, Suite 320 350 North State Street Salt Lake City, UT 84114 Greetings, Senator Jenkins, 97% of scientists say climate change is real, and we can see that in our own lives: Droughts and wildfires are getting worse, megastorms are battering the coasts, and the seas are rising. This is bad for our state's economy, for public health and public lands, and for our children's future. At a time like this, we need more clean energy, not less -- but the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is trying to roll back renewable energy standards in dozens of states, even though those standards help the climate and create jobs. That's because ALEC's model legislation is for ALEC members like Philip Morris and Koch Industries, not for us as citizens. Private profit shouldn't come at the expense of public health. It's your job to listen to constituents like me, not to these giant multinational corporations. Stand firm and resist ALEC's attacks on our climate -- side with the people and clean energy! Sincerely, Mr. Devin Olsen 5138 S 2350 W Roy, UT 84067-2208
