Improving State Elections for Military, Overseas Voters

Policy workshop presented by CSG's Overseas Voting Initiative
Monday, Aug. 11, 9-11 a.m.


The 2009 Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act aims to ensure all U.S. overseas voters have sufficient time to request and receive ballots and states allow enough time for the submitted ballots to be counted. While significant progress has been made, the overseas voting process still needs improvement. In this session, key stakeholders will share their experiences and perspectives in working to enhance voting for overseas Americans and will discuss the need for state-level policy improvements to better enfranchise this important voting population.
