| What if your children entered school this fall as better readers than they are now?
We would like you to know of an opportunity to help your children and grandchildren from Kindergarten through 8th grade to read more during the summer.
Recently, an opportunity was brought to our attention that can help your children and grandchildren have easy access to engaging digital books over the summer. The Utah Education Network (UEN) recently negotiated an agreement with Capstone Digital, creators of myON, to offer enhanced digital content and assessments to schools in Utah. Capstone Digital has arranged for an account that your families can use this summer for the UEN price of $6.00 per child. The subscription provides unlimited access to thousands of digital books and Lexile-based measures that will help demonstrate reading growth and ensure access to motivating and challenging books. The books in this account will be appropriate for children ages 4 to 14.
myON includes many additional tools, such as professionally recorded audio, text highlighting, and an embedded dictionary to support readers at all levels. Readers can rate books, write a review, take a comprehension quiz, or simply move ahead to another book. myON is available anywhere, anytime, and can be accessed using any internet-enabled device or offline using free mobile apps. If you are interested in evaluating myON, you can do so by clicking on the following link to create the number of logins you desire.
Many schools across the country have subscribed to the myON digital library and literacy solution. The results from students have been outstanding, and feedback from educators and community leaders has been very positive. We encourage you to take advantage of this unique opportunity for your children and grandchildren to continue learning during the summer. We would appreciate your feedback on this resource if you choose to participate.
