Over the course of the last year, a culture of questionable and unethical behavior has hung over the Attorney General’s Office. Utahns need an Attorney General that can restore the public trust. We need a watchdog that can hold the office and all of State government accountable. We need a public servant that will serve the people. We do not need a professional politician.
If you agree, please donate to my campaign today. This is a serious race. Even the Deseret News thinks a Democrat has a real chance in this one - “A Democrat hasn't held the attorney general's office since 2000 and might have an opportunity to retake it given the past year under Republican control.” But I need your help to make this happen.
For the last six years, I have served as an attorney for the State of Utah. I have had the privilege to serve with a group of outstanding public servants. The men and women who work in the office deserve a new hand in management - someone that understands the job they do everyday for Utah. With your support, I will restore public service and fidelity to the law as guiding principles of the office.
I am running to be the next Attorney General of Utah because I want to protect the constitutional rights of all Utahns, and ensure that all citizens are treated equally.
We need to make sure that our great state is not at the mercy of special interests, especially not now, with the many important legal issues facing Utah. As your Attorney General, I will define my role the same way the Utah Constitution does: I will “be the legal adviser of state officers.” I will not be beholden as a political appointee. Please stand with me as I take this message across Utah, and contribute today.
Thank you for your support.
Together, we can make state government work for all of us.
Very truly yours,
Charles A. Stormont
