 Dear Legislators,
I hope this reaches you in time so that I may oppose HB96 and add my comments to those of others who find this bill and others like it to be encroachment by the government into the peoples private lives. Also, I do not understand why you would run headlong into another federal program under the guise of state education that would be one step closer to cradle to grave monitoring of our children.
It is an expense that has not proven itself as successful and is very intrusive into the lives of families.
Contrary to popular belief, small children have other things to learn in their early years and are better served by loving parents and families than by pre-schools.
The Institute of Marriage and Family has shown that early education does NOT benefit children and they should actually begin school later rather than earlier.
Lets not repeat  the past. If we are going to spend money lets do something to fix the program that is already running or better yet lets get rid of it all and ave the money for something else.
Head Start, the comprehensive preschool program started in 1965, went 45 years and spent $166 billion and was proven a complete failure. Lets not repeat history.
Sincerely concerned citizen and constituent of dist. 22,
Marilee Roose
