Dear Education Committee Member, We are writing to reiterate our request that you kill this bill before it leaves the committee. We strongly believe that it is not in the best interest of the students, and removes parental rights because: 1. It allows SAGE and summative scores to determine student grades and grade advancement. 2. It removes parents' rights to opt out of SAGE interim and SAGE formative tests, and any other software provided by the state. 3. It allows for incentives/rewards to be given to the students who take the tests, which means that students whose parents have opted them out will be left out, essentially making the parents the "bad guy". So much progress has been made in the past few years to ensure parental rights when it comes to student testing, please don't let it all be undone. We're truly not sure who or what special interest was the catalyst for this bill being brought forth, but we're extremely disappointed that one of the sponsors was our own senator - Senator Millner. Thank you, Dr. Steven and Adele Kammeyer Ogden, Utah Sent from my iPad
