Subject: NO on HB164 Educational Testing Amendments
Date: Tue Feb 16 05:36:36 MST 2016
Hi Committee Members,

Please vote NO on HB164 Educational Testing Amendments.  As a parent of a child in our public education system, I have GRAVE concerns about removal of parental rights in choosing to opt out my child from SAGE testing, which is not considered an "End of Grade Level" test.  I have a right as a parent to choose whether my child takes that test or not, and this bill removes that right (lines 169-170).  It also removes my child's advancement opportunities to the next grade level if my child doesn't take the SAGE (lines 80-83), which is NOT appropriate and incentivizes students to take the test (lines 180-181).  Is this not bribery?  Please vote NO in your committee meeting.
