Subject: Please OPPOSE HB 96
Date: Thu Feb 06 05:44:11 MST 2014
I am e-mailing to ask you to please oppose HB 96. I have several young children and I am extremely uncomfortable with this bill. My main concerns, other than my general opposition to government preschools, are the data tracking and collection of personal information,
84           (4) "Eligible LEA" means an LEA that has a data system capacity to collect
85      longitudinal academic outcome data, including special education use by student, by identifying
86      each student with a statewide unique student identifier.

The tremendously expensive failure of Head Start should provide ample evidence of the impotence of these types of programs. The loss of privacy for innocent children, and the risk to families whose children may one day be required to attend if "compulsory attendance" laws are expanded to include preschools are far too high of price.
Please protect Utah's children and families by opposing HB 96!
Thank you,
Michelle Stone
