Dear Honorable Representative Lifferth,

FranklinCovey respectfully requests that the legislature prioritize funding for SB131 Student Leadership Grant in the 2015 Budget.

Of the 26 Utah schools that received grants from last year’s SB122, 10 schools chose to partner with FranklinCovey. These schools are now part of a community of more than 1,600 schools across the country using a process called The Leader in Me. Based on The 7 Habits, this process develops student leadership skills, increases student achievement, decreases discipline problems, and engages staff and parents.

Please watch the following two-minute video to learn more about SB131 and how it will impact the lives of Utah students.

Join students for breakfast:

What: Student Leadership Breakfast

When: Monday, Feb. 3, 7:30–8:30 a.m.

Where: Senate Caucus Room

Why: Come see how SB131 will impact student lives. Meet the students impacted by last year’s SB121 who have traveled to the capitol from across the state. You will be impressed with the leadership skills these students have developed. They will share their Leadership Notebooks—highlighting their academic achievement—and answer any questions you have about how the leadership grants have directly impacted their lives.

Please have your intern schedule a 10-minute meeting with me to learn more about SB131.

Thank you for your time,
