Feb 10, 2014 Representative Lee Perry State Capitol , Suite 350 350 North State Street Salt Lake City, UT 84114 Dear Representative Perry, I am writing to ask that you support school readiness and vote YES on HB96. Please vote yes on supporting expanded funding for PreK which is a proven cost saving measure while also yielding greater outcomes for participants. As a low income parent I can only hope that my daughter will have an opportunity to take part in this program in the coming years. This is a huge boost for those of us who value education but can't afford to provide our children with it. I have seen the impact that this makes in the lives of the children who are involved, the school I work with has two classrooms that were paid for by the social impact bond this last year. Please don't let the Eagle Forum decide what is best for low income kids...they are a long way from understanding the needs of low income kids and families...instead, take it from people who actually will be using the program as a means of providing their children with the opportunities that they need to be successful. Other facts are listed below, but I urge you to support this. HB96 will offer an innovative way to partner with the private sector, increase the number of at-risk students who can access high-quality preschool programs, and ensure that children are ready to learn. I encourage you to support this VITAL legislation for our kids, our communities, and for the future of our state.
