Thank you for believing in the YWCA in 2013. With your help, in FY12-13, we provided just under 1,000 women and children with a safe place to stay and the chance to build healthy, violence-free lives. Our children's programs provided 1,300 children with a nurturing, loving environment and our programs for every woman provided opportunities for leadership and personal growth. One in three women on the planet will be raped or beaten in her lifetime. That is one billion women. In 2013, one billion women and men shook the earth through dance. This year, on February 14, we are again calling on women and men everywhere to harness their power and imagination to rise for justice. Watch the nine minute film about the movement, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and share to help stop the violence. |
