This is the kind of law making that shows the true colors of legislators. On no conditions should property be seized  without due process of law and in no case should the proceeds go to the arresting agency. It should all go back into the general fund. We don't need police and other agencies looking for ways to generate income!!!

What are you going to do about this hellish piece of legislation???

Thanks
Allan Hales

Did you know? The legislature overturned the will of the people, and nobody knew…

A newly released report from Libertas Institute sheds light on something that's pretty alarming: the Utah legislature gutted key protections for property rights this past year. What's worse is that nobody seemed to know it happened.

The government claims the authority to seize people's property without even convicting them of a crime using what's called "asset forfeiture." Utah law had restrained this authority pretty well, but the secretive changes made this year undermined these safeguards, giving the government even more power to take your property.

Read the report here.

Citizen Sponsor Program

Many of you are politically active and aware of what's going on in the world around you. But how many of you have spoken with your state legislators, or attended a meeting at the state Capitol to lobby for or against a bill?

Our new Citizen Sponsorship Program provides a super easy, non-intimidating way to make an impact on politics at the state level. Whether you're a veteran or a rookie, you can be a part of a crowd-sourced effort to increase citizen participation in Utah.

To make this project even more interesting, we're offering prizes to participants—an iPad mini and a new Kindle Fire HDX! Read the details, and watch the announcement video, by clicking here.
