Subject: Let's get HB 37 out of Rules
Date: Tue Feb 18 20:19:48 MST 2014

Dear Members of the Utah House;

The Utah Stream Access Coalition has tried compromise in the past in 2010 Rep. Lori Fowlkes bill was being worked on by people from both sides of the Stream Access issue to peacefully define the stream access boundaries after the Conaster decision.  Rep. Kay McIff drafted HB 141 all by himself with no input other than his own sevier river duck club owning self.  (Don’t you have conflict of interest rules?) We have been waiting patiently for the legislature to do the right thing since then.  Gov. Herbert is upset by the multiple lawsuits over this issue and if he is sincere in his concern, we should give HB 37 it’s day on the floor.  Kay McIff has had plenty of time to draft HB 233, he’s had it written since last year when it was HB 68.  So quit stalling and let’s move on this issue.

Water recreation activities (fishing, white water rafting, kayaking, canoeing, bird watching, etc) bring more money into the state than skiing, let’s give it the attention it deserves already.
