Subject: please PASS H169 for our students' privacy
Date: Thu Mar 06 15:47:39 MST 2014

Dear Committee member,

I am a mother of 4 kids in public school.  I am extremely concerned about privacy issues with the SAGE/AIR testing coming up, and the company to which Utah will be handing over all that computer testing information—which is FAR more than just a test score.

It is well known that one component of the Common (Utah) Core is by design to test and track students by a dozen different non-academic parameters.  Many of these, in my opinion, are absolutely no business of the school or of the state (biometric data, bus stop locations, family background information, and much much more.)

HB169 aims to help protect student information and privacy.  Please pass it out of committee, and give it your support on the floor.

Thank you.
