Subject: Oppose HB112
Date: Wed Feb 26 03:40:16 MST 2014
Sir/Ma'am, Please oppose HB122, there already are laws and measures in place to prevent children (teens) from getting cigarettes/e-cigs and raising the age limit to 21 will do nothing, if teens are getting e-cigs they are getting them from their parents so they will quit the cigarettes that are inherently more dangerous then e-cigs, I am a 60 yr. old former smoker...smoke free for almost a year now and I order my e-cig juice from a reputable business out of State with the lowest nicotine available, I have gone into a lot of the Vapor Shops in the area and I get Id'd at the door. I think you are really looking at the opportunity to push Tobacco completely out of the picture eventually by not placing these restrictions on Adults. Please do not prohibit online sales of these products...I'm afraid this Bill will push Tobacco back to the forefront in the State of Utah. Please do the research and look at all the data currently available on these products before making such a huge decision that will effect thousands of adults in Utah. I do agree with the age restrictions that are currently in place...they just need to be enforced and that can be accomplished with penalties and higher fines for underage use...this Bill is not for the children as currently written. My cardiologist even say's stick with it.!!
