To: Dean Sanpei,
Subject: Please vote YES on H.B. 228, Utah State Board of Education Elections, in Committee today
Date: Mon Feb 24 13:01:32 MST 2014
When any citizen can choose to run for a government office, and that candidate is elected by the citizens after a proper campaigning process, the candidate understands that he represents his constituency.
When a candidate is chosen from a list of two, selected by a committee appointed by the governor, his allegiance is to the governor. This is not a free election process and does not meet the standards of a republican form of government.
Please allow us to have true elections for State School Board members. Vote YES on HB 228.
