George Wythe University Constitution Week Finale
Friday, September 20, 2013
1:30 - 2:30 pm
Utah State Capitol
Get an inside view behind the scenes at the U.S. Supreme Court. Dr. Ashby Boyle will take us on a tour of history through his personal experiences as Law Clerk to the Chief Justice -- including revelations of unseen influences at the Court that typically go unnoticed. The presentations will then shift to constitutional strategies from the perspective of the states with constitutional attorney Bill Duncan. CLE credit for attorneys who attend. Forms will be available. There is no charge.
A Personal Note
It has been two months since you have received an official message from me. Some have asked why. In short, it was a summer to focus on family and research. Here's a brief personal update:
Todd Eagar Passes
On July 10, 2013, my father-in-law Todd Eagar passed away unexpectedly at age 86, leaving behind his beautiful and dear wife Sylvia, two children Lisa Novetzke and Randy (my husband), four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was a friend to all, a happy and good-natured man who left anyone he was with feeling better about themselves after having been with him. He made a positive impact on his community with Eagar and Company, the real estate firm that helped develop Holladay, Utah, where we live.
On July 30 Todd's life was celebrated and honored at a gathering of hundreds of friends and family at the Town Club in Salt Lake. What a reunion that was. He will always be missed by many who knew and loved him.
Sylvia is doing well. We are grateful for family and the opportunity to support her at this time.
Bacon Family Reunion
In July and August, I was responsible for an enormous genealogical project - a presentation on the history of my parents and their descendants - that my brother Carl Bacon and sister Chyleen Bluth and I created together. The Samuel and Dorothy Bacon Family Reunion was an inspirational weekend and a huge success.
We were blessed to have so many join us near the Utah Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City. (If you've never been, it is a Tony-Award winning festival in a beautiful setting around which you may want to schedule your next summer vacation.)
New Education Research Project
A group of education researchers with whom I've been networked for over 25 years from all parts of the country have collaborated on a new video project to be released soon. These stalwarts have been responsible for much of the research that has laid the groundwork for this present campaign against the nationalization of education.
It has been a motivation for me to pull together my research of over 25 years and has taken months and a lot of digging through storage to produce what I believe will be one of the most comprehensive exposes on the demise of American education. We have organized an education policy action plan to be released soon.
In order to meet deadlines, I have had to devote the bulk of my time to providing my research for this project. Watch for an announcement soon.
Surviving the Hostile Government Health Care Takeover
I have been giving presentations on this topic to rally doctors and patients alike. It is available for home or community gatherings.
Please contact me if you would like to invite friends and family for a breakfast, lunch or evening hour to share what we can do to protect ourselves from nationalized health care. It includes a comprehensive action plan for how you can take charge of your health care and what doctors can do to protect themselves also in this hostile environment.
Action: Defund ObamaCare
We are so proud of Utah's Senator Mike Lee and how he has stood strong in the defunding of the Unaffordable Care Act campaign.
Please contact your House representative today as it is scheduled to vote shortly.
