Enactment of this legislation could shift $2,500 one-time in FY 2025 and $10,000 ongoing beginning in FY 2026 from the Commerce Service Account to the new account created by this legislation. In addition, it could increase revenue to the new account by $5,000 ongoing beginning in FY 2026, which would be eligible to earn interest.

Currently, approximately 20 people pay a fine of $500 per year for a total of $10,000 to the Commerce Service Account. This revenue will shift from the Commerce Service Account to the new account created by this legislation. This legislation could expand the fine to an additional 10 people at $500 per year, for an additional $5,000 in revenue to the new account.
