<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?><section number="34A-2-201"><effdate>12/31/2017</effdate><histories><history>Amended by Chapter <modchap sess="2017GS">363</modchap>, 2017 General Session</history><modyear>2017</modyear></histories><catchline>Employers to secure workers' compensation benefits for employees -- Methods.</catchline><tab/>An employer shall secure the payment of workers' compensation benefits for its employees by:<subsection number="34A-2-201(1)">
insuring, and keeping insured, the payment of this compensation with an insurer authorized under <xref depth="0" refnumber="31A" start="0">Title 31A, Insurance Code</xref>, to transact the business of workers' compensation insurance in this state; or</subsection><subsection number="34A-2-201(2)">
obtaining approval from the division in accordance with Section <xref depth="3" refnumber="34A-2-201.5" start="0">34A-2-201.5</xref> to pay direct compensation as a self-insured employer in the amount, in the manner, and when due as provided for in this chapter or <xref depth="1" refnumber="34A-3" start="1">Chapter 3, Utah Occupational Disease Act</xref>.</subsection></section>
