5/6/2026Amended by Chapter 334, 2026 General Session2026Motorcycles and all-terrain type I vehicles -- Operation on public highways.A motorcycle is entitled to full use of a lane.An individual may not operate a motor vehicle in a manner that deprives a motorcycle of the full use of a lane.This Subsection (1) does not apply to motorcycles operated two abreast in a single lane.The operator of a motorcycle may not overtake and pass in the same lane occupied by the vehicle being overtaken.Except as described in Subsection (3)(b), an individual may not operate a motorcycle between:lanes of traffic; oradjacent lines or rows of vehicles.Subsection (3)(a) does not apply to an individual operating a motorcycle engaging in lane filtering as described in Section 41-6a-704.Motorcycles may not be operated more than two abreast in a single lane.Subsections (2) and (3)(a) do not apply to peace officers acting in the peace officers' official capacities.The provisions of this section also apply to all-terrain type I vehicles.A violation of this section is an infraction.
