AN ACT RELATING TO PUBLIC EDUCATION; PROVIDING FOR A $50,000
APPROPRIATION TO EXPAND THE TECHNOLOGY CAPABILITIES OF CERTAIN
PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN ORDER TO HELP MAINTAIN A POSITIVE RELATIONSHIP
WITH THE STATE OF NEVADA AND IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF EDUCATIONAL
SERVICES AT THE SCHOOLS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
This act enacts uncodified material.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
Section 1. Appropriation.
(1) There is appropriated from the Uniform School Fund for fiscal year 1998-99, $50,000
to the State Board of Education for a one-time appropriation to expand the technology capabilities
of public schools in the state's northwest desert area.
(2) The purpose of the appropriation is to help maintain a positive relationship with the
state of Nevada as related to the quality of public education services available at Utah schools
close to the borders of both states.
Section 2. Effective date.
This act takes effect on July 1, 1998.
