First Substitute H.B. 284

Representative Craig W. Buttars proposes to substitute the following bill:

1 APPROPRIATION FOR BRIDGERLAND ICE ARENA
2 1998 GENERAL SESSION
3 STATE OF UTAH
4 Sponsor: Craig W. Buttars
5 AN ACT RELATING TO APPROPRIATIONS; APPROPRIATING $2,000,000 FROM THE
6 GENERAL FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR 1998-99 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF
7 COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR USE IN CONSTRUCTION OF
8 THE BRIDGERLAND COMMUNITY ICE ARENA; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
9 DATE.
10 This act enacts uncodified material.
11 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
12 Section 1. Appropriation.
13 There is appropriated from the General Fund for fiscal year 1998-99 $2,000,000 to the
14 Department of Community and Economic Development for distribution to Cache County for
15 construction of the Bridgerland Community Ice Arena to help fulfill the statewide public purpose
16 of providing sports and recreation facilities for the people of the state and of providing a potential
17 practice facility for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
18 Section 2. Effective date.
19 This act takes effect on July 1, 1998.
