6    AN ACT RELATING TO APPLIED TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION; PROVIDING A $299,000
7    APPROPRIATION TO PURCHASE A TRACT OF LAND FOR EXPANSION OF THE
8    OGDEN-WEBER APPLIED TECHNOLOGY CENTER; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
9    DATE.
10    This act enacts uncodified material.
11    Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
12        Section 1. Appropriation.
13        (1) There is appropriated from the Uniform School Fund for fiscal year 1998-99, $299,000
14    to the State Board for Applied Technology Education to purchase a tract of land for expansion of
15    facilities at the Ogden-Weber Applied Technology Center.
16        (2) It is anticipated that the land would be developed to house additional custom fit
17    training facilities at the center to further strengthen the institution's school-to-careers initiative and
18    help to ensure that graduating students are employable.
19        Section 2. Effective date.
20        This act takes effect on July 1, 1998.
