APPROPRIATIONS FOR UTAH HIGHWAY
2 PATROL SALARY ADJUSTMENTS
3 1999 GENERAL SESSION

6 AN ACT RELATING TO PUBLIC SAFETY AND APPROPRIATIONS; APPROPRIATING
7 $2,100,000 FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO
8 BE USED TOWARD ACHIEVING PARITY OF SALARIES FOR UTAH HIGHWAY PATROL
9 OFFICERS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
10 This act enacts uncodified material.
11 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
12 Section 1. Appropriation.
13 (1) Except as provided in H.B. 4, Appropriations Coordination Act, there is appropriated
14 from the General Fund to the Department of Public Safety $2,100,000 for fiscal year 1999-2000.
15 (2) It is the intent of the Legislature that this appropriation shall be solely used to adjust
16 Utah Highway Patrol officer's salaries in an attempt to provide salary parity with peace officers
17 employed by the cities and counties of the state.
18 Section 2. Effective date.
19 This act takes effect on July 1, 1999.
