First Substitute S.B. 253

Senator Pete Suazo proposes to substitute the following bill:

1 UTAH BOXING COMMISSION APPROPRIATION
2 2000 GENERAL SESSION
3 STATE OF UTAH
4 Sponsor: Pete Suazo
5 AN ACT RELATING TO APPROPRIATIONS; APPROPRIATING $40,000 FROM THE
6 GENERAL FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR 2000-01 FOR BOXING PROMOTION AND
7 REGULATION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
8 This act enacts uncodified material.
9 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
10 Section 1. Appropriation.
11 There is appropriated from the General Fund for fiscal year 2000-01, $40,000 to the
12 Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing to be used as follows:
13 (1) 60% to be used to promote and fund amateur boxing in the state in accordance with
14 procedures established by rule; and
15 (2) 40% to be used to cover costs incurred by the Utah Boxing Commission in overseeing
16 professional boxing events in this state.
17 Section 2. Effective date.
18 This act takes effect on July 1, 2000.
