SOLEMNIZATION OF MARRIAGES

5 This act provides that ordination by Internet is not valid in Utah for the performing of
6 marriage ceremonies.
7 This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
8 ENACTS:
9 30-1-6.1, Utah Code Annotated 1953
10 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
11 Section 1. Section 30-1-6.1 is enacted to read:
12 30-1-6.1. Ordination by Internet not valid.
13 Certification, licensure, ordination, or any other endorsement received by a person through
14 application over the Internet or by mail that purports to give that person religious authority is not
15 valid for the purposes of Subsection 30-1-6 (1)(a).
