5 This act makes the Legislative Management Committee responsible for the legislative area
6 of the state capitol. This act provides an effective date.
7 This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
8 AMENDS:
9 36-5-1, as last amended by Chapter 84, Laws of Utah 1971
10 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
11 Section 1. Section 36-5-1 is amended to read:
12 36-5-1. Reservation of area for Legislature -- Duties of Legislative Management
13 Committee.
14 The legislative area at the state capitol includes the chambers, lounges, committee rooms,
15 and galleries of both the Senate and the House, the offices adjacent to the Senate gallery on all
16 sides, all rooms and office space between the Senate and House galleries, and all adjacent
17 hallways, utility space, and facilities. This area is reserved for the use and occupancy of the
18 Legislature and its committees and for legislative functions. The [

21 Section 2. Effective date.
22 If approved by two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, this act takes effect
23 upon approval by the governor, or the day following the constitutional time limit of Utah
24 Constitution Article VII, Section 8, without the governor's signature, or in the case of a veto, the
25 date of veto override.
