MOTION: Sen. Thomas moved to approve the minutes of February 14th, 2003.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. B. Evans and Sen. Julander absent at the time of the vote.
Sen. J. Evans called the meeting to order at 8:07 a.m.
Sen. Ron Allen assumed the chair.
1. S.B. 140 PRESCRIPTION DRUG ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (Sen. J. Evans)
MOTION: Sen. J. Evans moved to amend the bill as follows.
1. Page 2, Line 33: Delete "Prominently"
The motion passed with Sen. B. Evans absent at the time of the vote.
Sen. J. Evans presented the bill to the committee.
Rod Betit, Utah Department of Health, spoke in favor of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Julander moved to pass S. B. 140, as amended, out of committee with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. B. Evans absent at the time of the vote.

2. SJR11 RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING CONGRESS TO ENACT MEDICARE PRESCRIPTION DRUG BENEFIT (Sen.G. Davis)
MOTION: Sen. Julander moved to amend the bill as follows:
1 Page 1, Line 9: Delete " Medicaid" and insert " Medicare"
2. Page 2, Line 40: Delete "Medicaid" and insert "Medicare"
The motion passed with Sen. B. Evans absent at the time of the vote.
Sen. Davis presented the bill to the committee.
MOTION: Sen. Allen moved to pass SJR 11, as amended, out of committee with a favorable recommendation.
