GRAZING PERMIT FEE AMENDMENTS

LONG TITLE
General Description:
This bill amends provisions relating to grazing permit fees on school and institutional
trust lands and the purposes for which those fees are used.
Highlighted Provisions:
This bill:
. amends provisions relating to grazing permit fees to increase the fee per animal unit
month (AUM); and
. allows the fees to be used for insect and disease infestations on school and
institutional trust lands.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
Section 1. Section 53C-5-104 is amended to read:
53C-5-104. Fees.
(1) The director shall collect a fee annually from each grazing permittee for the control
of noxious weeds [and], new and invading plant species, insects, and disease infestations on
trust [lands] rangelands.

(2) The fee shall be [5] 10 cents per animal unit month (AUM).
(3) Fees collected by the director under this section shall be deposited in the Land Grant
Management Fund created in Section 53C-3-101 and shall be used by the director for the payment
of costs incurred in controlling noxious weeds [and], new and invading plant species, insects, and
disease infestations on school and institutional trust lands.
