             8      General Description:
             9          This bill clarifies that a chiropractic physician may practice acupuncture without being
             10      licensed under the Acupuncture Licensing Act.
             11      Highlighted Provisions:
             12          This bill:
             13          .    clarifies that a chiropractic physician may practice acupuncture without being
             14      licensed under the Acupuncture Licensing Act.

             19      Utah Code Sections Affected:
             20      AMENDS:
             21          58-72-304, as repealed and reenacted by Chapter 26, Laws of Utah 1998

             23      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             24          Section 1. Section 58-72-304 is amended to read:
             25           58-72-304. Exceptions from licensure.
             26          In addition to the exemptions from licensure set forth in Section 58-1-307 , the
             27      following persons may engage in the practice of acupuncture subject to the stated


             28      circumstances and limitations without being licensed under this chapter:
             29          (1) an individual licensed as a physician and surgeon or osteopathic physician and
             30      surgeon under Chapter 67, Utah Medical Practice Act, and Chapter 68, Utah Osteopathic
             31      Medical Practice Act; [and]
             32          (2) a commissioned physician or surgeon serving in the armed forces of the United
             33      States or other federal agency[.]; and
             34          (3) a chiropractic physician licensed under Chapter 73, Chiropractic Physician Practice
             35      Act.
