                  LONG TITLE
                  General Description:
                      This resolution recognizes the Ogden Pioneer Heritage Foundation's efforts to establish
                  the Utah Cowboy Hall of Fame in Ogden.
                  Highlighted Provisions:
                      This resolution:
                      .    recognizes the efforts of the Ogden Pioneer Heritage Foundation to establish the
                  Utah Cowboy Hall of Fame in Ogden to honor and interpret the history of Native
                  Americans, cowboys, ranching, rodeo, and the western lifestyle of Utah for the
                  benefit of future generations.
                  Special Clauses:
                      None
                 
                  Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah, the Governor concurring therein:
                      WHEREAS, the Ogden Pioneer Heritage Foundation, a Utah nonprofit corporation that
                  honors the rich heritage and contemporary culture of the people of early pioneer heritage in the
                  greater Ogden area, is working to establish the Utah Cowboy Hall of Fame in Ogden;
                      WHEREAS, the Utah Cowboy Hall of Fame will be the interpretive center for the
                  history of Native Americans, cowboys, ranching, rodeo, and the western lifestyle of Utah;
                      WHEREAS, the Utah Cowboy Hall of Fame will help preserve the culture and legacy
                  that is the character of Utah and the western way of life for the benefit of future generations;
                      WHEREAS, the location of the Utah Cowboy Hall of Fame will be at Ogden's Pioneer
                  Stadium and will feature a Hall of Honorees, an Interpretive Center with permanent and


                  traveling western culture exhibits, and a multipurpose meeting area for use by visiting groups;
                      WHEREAS, the Utah Cowboy Hall of Fame will also accommodate a gift shop and patio
                  restaurant with an extraordinary view of the Ogden River and the Wasatch Mountains;
                      WHEREAS, display areas will interpret and honor Native Americans, cowboys, ranchers,
                  homesteaders and rodeo cowboys, Miss Rodeo Utah, and western musicians;
                      WHEREAS, it is fitting that the Utah Cowboy Hall of Fame be located at Pioneer
                  Stadium where Ogden Pioneer Days originated and where the feeling of the American West still
                  lives;
                      WHEREAS, the establishment of the Utah Cowboy Hall of Fame helps to realize the
                  purposes of the Ogden Pioneer Heritage Foundation, which include promoting the unique
                  character and content of Ogden's pioneer and western heritage, encouraging and welcoming
                  visitors to Ogden to participate in the various events and activities of the Pioneer Days
                  Celebration, and preserving, protecting, interpreting, and acquiring elements of Ogden's pioneer
                  and western heritage and history; and
                      WHEREAS, the Utah Cowboy Hall of Fame will provide a panorama of Utah's unique
                  heritage and do honor to its origins and character:
                      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of the state of Utah, the
                  Governor concurring therein, recognize the efforts of the Ogden Pioneer Heritage Foundation to
                  establish the Utah Cowboy Hall of Fame in Ogden to honor and interpret the history of Native
                  Americans, cowboys, ranching, rodeo, and the western lifestyle of Utah for the benefit of future
                  generations.
                      BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Ogden
                  Pioneer Heritage Foundation.
