             8      LONG TITLE
             9      General Description:
             10          This bill appropriates monies to institutions of higher education to extend partnerships
             11      with other state institutions of higher education and to enhance regional programs.
             12      Highlighted Provisions:
             13          This bill:
             14          .    appropriates monies to institutions of higher education to provide increased degree
             15      opportunities in high-demand academic areas;
             16          .    extends Utah State University's partnerships with the College of Eastern Utah, and
             17      Snow College; and
             18          .    develops Utah State University's regional programs at its Uintah Basin, Tooele, and
             19      Brigham City campuses.
             20      Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
             21          This bill appropriates as an ongoing appropriation subject to future budget constraints,
             22      $4,789,200 from the Education Fund for fiscal year 2007-08.
             23      Other Special Clauses:
             24          This bill takes effect on July 1, 2007.

             28      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             29          Section 1. Ongoing appropriation.


             30          As an ongoing appropriation subject to future budget constraints, there is appropriated
             31      from the Education Fund for fiscal year 2007-08:
             32          (1) $1,000,000 to the College of Eastern Utah to offer, in partnership with Utah State
             33      University, degrees in education, business, and natural resources;
             34          (2) $1,000,000 to Snow College to offer, in partnership with Utah State University,
             35      degrees in education, business, engineering, computer science, and natural resources; and
             36          (3) the following amounts to Utah State University:
             37          (a) $1,000,000 to offer education, business, pre-engineering, and natural resources
             38      degrees at the Uintah Basin Campus;
             39          (b) $900,000 to offer education, business, pre-engineering, and social work degrees at
             40      the Tooele Campus; and
             41          (c) $889,200 to offer education, pre-engineering, social work, liberal arts, and family,
             42      consumer, and human development degrees at the Brigham City Campus.
             43          Section 2. Effective date.
             44          This bill takes effect on July 1, 2007.
