Rep. Ray called the meeting to order at 9:08 a.m.
MOTION: Rep. Buxton moved to approve the minutes of the January 16, 2007 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Dougall and Rep. Litvack absent for the vote.
H.B. 218 Utah Children's Health Insurance Program Ombudsman (Rep. D. Aagard)
Rep. Aagard introduced H.B. 218 and explained it to the committee. He was assisted by Danise Heninger.
Rep. Ray relinquished the chair to Rep. Menlove.
Spoke to the bill: Bill Barnes, Primary Children's Medical Center
Rep. Ray resumed the chair.
MOTION: Rep. Litvack moved to pass H.B. 218 out favorably. The motion passed with Rep. Dougall and Rep. Sandstrom voting in opposition to the motion and Rep. Menlove absent for the vote.
Sarah Rigby, Utah Department of Health, explained the Gold Medal Schools Program, showing slides and presenting the Department of Health's efforts in promoting healthy living for children, youth, and adults. Handouts were provided to committee members.
MOTION: Rep. Riesen moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
Rep. Ray adjourned the meeting at 10:00 a.m.
