             8      General Description:
             9          This bill amends the Medical Assistance Act of the Health Code.
             10      Highlighted Provisions:
             11          This bill:
             12          .    authorizes the Department of Health to implement the vision benefits of the
             13      Medicaid program with a $3 co-pay.
             14      Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
             15          None
             16      Other Special Clauses:
             17          This bill provides an immediate effective date.
             18      Utah Code Sections Affected:
             19      ENACTS:
             20          26-18-12, Utah Code Annotated 1953
             21     
             22      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             23          Section 1. Section 26-18-12 is enacted to read:
             24          26-18-12. Vision benefits.
             25          The department is authorized to establish vision benefits as part of its Medicaid
             26      program. The vision benefits are:
             27          (1) subject to available funding; and


             28          (2) a $3 co-payment.
             29          Section 2. Effective date.
             30          If approved by two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, this bill takes effect
             31      upon approval by the governor, or the day following the constitutional time limit of Utah
             32      Constitution Article VII, Section 8, without the governor's signature, or in the case of a veto,
             33      the date of veto override.
