             8      LONG TITLE
             9      General Description:
             10          This bill modifies a provision relating to limitations on the liability of a landowner
             11      whose land is used for public recreation.
             12      Highlighted Provisions:
             13          This bill:
             14          .    modifies the definition of recreational purposes to include aircraft operations.
             15      Money Appropriated in this Bill:

             23      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             24          Section 1. Section 57-14-2 is amended to read:
             25           57-14-2. Definitions.
             26          As used in this chapter:
             27          (1) (a) "Land" means any land within the territorial limits of Utah.


             28          (b) "Land" includes roads, railway corridors, water, water courses, private ways and
             29      buildings, structures, and machinery or equipment when attached to the realty.
             30          (2) "Owner" includes the possessor of any interest in the land, whether public or
             31      private land, a tenant, a lessor, a lessee, and an occupant or person in control of the premises.
             32          (3) "Recreational purpose" includes, but is not limited to, any of the following or any
             33      combination thereof:
             34          (a) hunting;
             35          (b) fishing;
             36          (c) swimming;
             37          (d) skiing;
             38          (e) snowshoeing;
             39          (f) camping;
             40          (g) picnicking;
             41          (h) hiking;
             42          (i) studying nature;
             43          (j) waterskiing;
             44          (k) engaging in water sports;
             45          (l) engaging in equestrian activities;
             46          (m) using boats;
             47          (n) mountain biking;
             48          (o) riding narrow gauge rail cars on a narrow gauge track that does not exceed 24 inch
             49      gauge;
             50          (p) using off-highway vehicles or recreational vehicles; [and]
             51          (q) viewing or enjoying historical, archaeological, scenic, or scientific sites[.]; and
             52          (r) aircraft operations.
             53          (4) "Charge" means the admission price or fee asked in return for permission to enter
             54      or go upon the land.
             55          (5) "Person" includes any person, regardless of age, maturity, or experience, who enters
             56      upon or uses land for recreational purposes.
