11 General Description:
12 This bill modifies a provision that repeals certain provisions relating to the education of
13 persons in the custody of the Utah Department of Corrections.
14 Highlighted Provisions:
15 This bill:
16 . modifies the repeal date of Section 53A-1-403.5, which provides for certain
17 educational programs for persons in custody of the Utah Department of Corrections,
18 contracting for those services, a recidivism reduction plan, and which requires
19 collaboration among certain state agencies in relation to the programs; and
20 . changes the repeal date of that section from July 1, 2012 to July 1, 2022.

29 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
30 Section 1. Section 63I-2-253 is amended to read:
31 63I-2-253. Repeal dates -- Titles 53, 53A, and 53B.
32 (1) Section 53A-1-403.5 is repealed July 1, [2012] 2022.
33 (2) Subsection 53A-1-603 (5) is repealed July 1, 2015.
34 (3) Title 53A, Chapter 1a, Part 10, UPSTART, is repealed July 1, 2014.
35 (4) Subsection 53A-13-110 (4) is repealed July 1, 2013.
36 (5) Section 53A-15-1215 is repealed July 1, 2012.
