Rep. Gibson called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m.
MOTION: Rep. Moss moved to approve the minutes of January 24, 2012. The motion passed unanimously. Rep. Arent and Rep. Newbold were absent for the vote.
H.B. 212 Dividing School Districts (Rep. J. Bird)
Rep. Bird introduced the bill which makes changes to certain new school district creation procedures. He introduced the following students and teacher from Copper Hills High School who assisted in presenting the bill:

The following spoke in opposition to the bill:

Peggy Jo Kennett, Jordan School District Board, spoke in support of the bill.
MOTION: Rep. Newbold moved to pass the bill out with a favorable recommendation. The motion failed with Rep. Newbold voting in support of the bill.
H.B. 62 Provisions Regarding School Supplies (Rep. K. Powell)
Rep. Powell introduced the bill which modifies provisions regarding school supplies for elementary school students.
MOTION: Rep. Powell moved to amend the bill as follows:

H.B. 261 was not considered.
MOTION: Rep. Moss moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously. Chair Gibson adjourned the meeting at 5:50 p.m.
