Representative Fred C. Cox proposes the following amendments:
1. Page 1, Lines 22 through 23 :

This bill provides effective dates.
This bill provides revisor instructions.
2. Page 4, Line 91 :
91 controlling thermal expansion can be ensured as required in the IPC Section 607.3."
Section 4. Effective date.
(1) Except as provided in Subsection (2), this bill takes effect July 1, 2012.
(2) Section 15A-3-203 and Subsection 15A-3-701(2) take effect January 1, 2013.
Section 5. Revisor instructions.
Due to the delayed effective date of Subsection
15A-3-701
(2), the Legislature intends that the
Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel, in preparing the Utah Code database for
publication, modify Section
15A-3-701
to read as follows until January 1, 2013:
" 15A-3-701 . General provision.
The following [
(1) in IECC, Section 303.1.3:
(a) the following is added at the end of the second sentence before the period: "or, for a site-built fenestration product, shall be assigned the system U-factor stated in the manufacturer's documentation, if the manufacturer has produced documentation of the applicable system U-factor"; and
(b) the following is added at the end of the fourth sentence before the period: "or, for a site-built fenestration product, shall be assigned the system SHGC stated in the manufacturer's documentation, if the manufacturer has produced documentation of the applicable system SHGC"; and
(2) in IECC, Section 504.4, a new exception is added as follows: "Exception: Heat traps, other than the arrangement of piping and fittings, shall be prohibited unless a means of controlling thermal expansion can be ensured as required in the IPC Section 607.3." "
