             8      General Description:
             9          This bill amends Title 67, Chapter 25, General Requirements for State Officers and
             10      Employees, regarding the state agency work week.
             11      Highlighted Provisions:
             12          This bill:
             13          .    allows a state agency to also provide a service online or by telephone;
             14          .    reduces the hours per day a state agency is required to provide a service;
             15          .    repeals the requirement to have at least one physical location in operation Monday
             16      through Friday; and
             17          .    makes technical changes.

             26      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             27          Section 1. Section 67-25-201 is amended to read:


             28           67-25-201. State agency work week.
             29          (1) Except for a legal holiday established under Section 63G-1-301 , a state agency shall
             30      [operate at least one physical location, and as many physical locations necessary], at least
             31      [nine] eight hours a day on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday [to], provide a
             32      service required by statute to another entity of the state, a political subdivision, or the public[.]:
             33          (a) in person at a physical location;
             34          (b) online; or
             35          (c) by telephone.
             36          (2) This section does not limit the days or hours a state agency may operate.
             37          (3) To provide a service as required by Subsection (1), the chief administrative officer
             38      of a state agency may determine:
             39          (a) the number of physical locations, if any, operating each day;
             40          (b) the daily hours of operation[, as required by Subsection (1), of each] of a physical
             41      location;
             42          (c) the number of state agency employees who work per day; and
             43          (d) the hours a state agency employee works per day.
