Chair Edwards called the meeting to order at 2:19 p.m. Members of the committee were welcomed and introduced.

H.B. 21    Workforce Services Amendments (Rep. J. Bird)

MOTION:    Rep. Bird moved to substitute H.B. 21 with 1st Substitute H.B. 21.
        The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Menlove and Mrs. Nelson absent for
        the vote.

Rep. Bird introduced the bill, assisted by Mr. Bill Starks, Director of Unemployment Insurance, Department of Workforce Services.

MOTION:    Rep. Hemingway moved to pass out 1st Sub. H.B. 21with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

H.B. 249    Refugee Services Fund Amendments (Rep. J. Peterson)

Rep. Peterson introduced the bill.

Ms. Karla Aguirre, Department of Workforce Services, spoke to the bill.

MOTION:    Rep. Hemingway moved to pass out H.B. 249 with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously. Rep. Bird was absent for the vote.

H.B. 251    Sunset Reauthorization - Employment Services for the Disabled (Rep. R. Menlove)

Rep. Menlove introduced the bill.

The following spoke in favor of the bill:

    Ms. Kris Fawson. Legislative Coalition for People with Disabilities

Rep. Greenwood moved to pass out H.B. 251 with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Bird absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Oda moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously. Chair Edwards adjourned the meeting at 3:25 p.m.
