Chair Edwards called the meeting to order at 8:08 a.m.
MOTION: Rep. Wilson moved to approve the minutes of the February 20, 2013 meeting.
The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Greenwood, Rep. Last, and Rep. Oda
absent for the vote.
H.B. 209 Public Assistance Restrictions (Rep. D. Brown)
MOTION: Rep. Nelson moved to replace 1st Substitute H.B. 209 with 2nd Substitute H.B.
209. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Greenwood, Rep. Last, and Rep. Oda absent for
the vote.
Rep. Brown introduced the bill with the assistance of Mr. Geoff Landward, Department of
Workforce Services.
MOTION: Rep. Wilson moved to pass the bill out with a favorable recommendation. The
motion passed unanimously.
H.B. 139 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Action Center (Rep. V.
Peterson)
MOTION: Rep. Last moved to replace H.B. 139 with 1st Substitute H.B. 139. The motion
passed unanimously.
Rep. Peterson introduced the bill.
Ms. Angela Stallings, Office of Legislative Research, spoke to the bill and responded to
questions from committee members.

MOTION: Rep. Last moved to pass the bill out with a favorable recommendation. The
motion passed unanimously.
Chair Edwards relinquished the chair to Vice Chair Cunningham.
H.B. 332 Alternate Dispute Resolution Amendments (Rep. R. Edwards)
Rep. Edwards introduced the bill assisted by Mr. Craig Hughes, Citizens of Utah.
MOTION: Rep. Nelson moved to pass the bill out with a favorable recommendation. The
motion passed unanimously with Rep. Wilson absent for the vote.
MOTION: Rep. Bird moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Wilson
absent for the vote. Vice Chair Cunningham adjourned the meeting at 9:52 a.m.
