Chair Ray called the meeting to order at 2:10 p.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Kennedy moved to approve the minutes of February 5, 2013, February 6, 2013, and February 11, 2013. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Barlow, Rep. Chavez-Houck and Rep. Cosgrove absent for the vote.

S.B. 135    Involuntary Commitment Amendments
(Sen. T. Weiler)

Sen. Weiler presented the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Christensen moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Chavez-Houck absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Redd moved to place S.B. 135 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Chavez-Houck absent for the vote.

H.B. 292    Premium Assistance Under Medicaid and CHIP (Rep. D. Sanpei)

Rep. Sanpei presented the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Kennedy moved to replace H.B. 292 with 1st Substitute H.B. 292, "Premium Assistance Under Medicaid and CHIP." The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Chavez-Houck absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Kennedy moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Kennedy moved to place H.B. 198 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously.

H.B. 116    Sudden Cardiac Arrest Survival Act Amendments (Rep. R. Cunningham)

Rep. Cunningham presented the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Christensen moved to amend the bill as follows:


1.    Page 5, Lines 140 through 141 :    

             140          (2) the person is responding to, or providing care to, a potential sudden cardiac arrest
             141      patient
{   .   }        or

(3)    the person acts in good faith with the intent to support, and not to violate, the recognized purposes of the AED.       


The motion passed unanimously.
