Chair Bramble called the meeting to order at 8:04 a.m.

Approval of Minutes

Chair Bramble made a correction on the minutes of February 7 2013. Sen. Henderson rather than Sen. Davis moved to adjourn.

MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved to approve the minutes of the February 7, 2013 meeting.      The motion passed unanimously .

S.B. 136 Construction Trades Licensing Modifications
(P. Knudson)

MOTION: Sen. Henderson moved to delete in title and body S.B. 136 and adopt 1st. Sub. 136.      The motion passed unanimously.

Sen. Knudson introduced and explained the bill assisted by Brent Ursenback, Salt Lake County Code Official Code Official.

Spoke in favor of the bill: Ryan Snow, President, Rocky Mountain Gas
                 John Hill, Director, Rocky Mountain Gas Association
                 Ryan Rentmeister, President, Rentmeister Total home Service

Spoke in opposition to the bill: Brad Stevens, Executive Director, Independent Electrical                  Contractors.

Spoke to the bill: Tazz Besisnger, Utah Home Builders Association.


MOTION: Sen. Hinkins moved to proceed to the next item on the agenda. The motion passed

unanimously.

Chair Bramble relinquished the Committee Chair to Sen. Mayne.

S.B. 94 Government Records Amendments
(C. Bramble)

Sen. Bramble introduced and explained the bill.

Spoke in favor of the bill: Linda Peterson, Media Coalition

MOTION: Sen. Valentine moved to transmit S.B. 94 favorably. The motion passed      unanimously.

Sen. Mayne relinquished the Committee Chair to Sen. Henderson.

H.B. 259 Insurance Amendments
(J. Bird)

Rep. Bird introduced and explained the bill and answered questions from the Committee.

MOTION:
Sen. Davis moved to transmit H.B. 259 favorably. The motion passed unanimously      with Sen. Bramble and Sen. Mayne absent for the vote.

MOTION: Sen. Davis moved to place H.B. 259 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed      unanimously with Sen. Mayne absent for the vote.

H.B. 289 Fireworks Amendments

MOTION: Sen. Valentine moved to adopt the following amendments:

1st Sub. H.B. 290 Division of Real Estate Amendments (G. Froerer)

Rep. Froerer introduced and explained the bill assisted by Jonny Stewart, Division of Real Estate and a handout was distributed.

MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved to transmit 1st Sub. H.B. 290 favorably. The motion      passed unanimously with Sen. Davis and Sen. Mayne absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Sen. Valentine moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis and Sen. Mayne absent for the vote. Chair Bramble adjourned the meeting at 9:18 a.m.
